Xiaomi unveils the cheap Redmi A3 phone

Xiaomi today launched the Redmi A3, a new low-cost phone with a striking design that resembles leather on the back and is the company's cheapest smartphone.

The Redmi A3 phone features a 6.71-inch LCD screen with HD+ resolution and a refresh rate of 90 Hz. The screen also comes with a Gorilla Glass 3 protection layer and a top protrusion that houses the selfie camera.

The phone is powered by a MediaTek Helio G36 processor, which was also used in the previous A2 phone, but Xiaomi increased the random memory to 6 GB after it did not exceed 4 GB in the previous version, and it runs the full Android 14 operating system rather than the Android Go system.

The phone has a robust 5,000 mAh battery that supports 10-watt charging via the USB-C connection. There's also a connector for 3.5 mm wired headphones and a fingerprint sensor embedded into the screen power button.

The phone has an 8-megapixel primary back camera with LED flash and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera.

The Redmi A3 phone comes in several colors, black, green, and blue, and Xiaomi will start selling the phone at the end of this February at low prices in the range of $100 US dollars, varying slightly according to the storage capacity and random memory, and it is expected that the phone will be available in many emerging markets around the world during the first quarter of this year.
